Great News: Clinton aide Huma Abedin tied directly to Muslim Brotherhood and the "Godfather" of Al Qaeda... post-9/11

Rep. Michele Bachmann and four other members of Congress were slammed this week and last by vintage media, Democrats and RINOs (but I repeat myself) for questioning the
influence that longtime aide Huma Abedin wields over Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Abedin now serves as Deputy Chief of Staff to Clinton; Bachmann and others have questioned her family's close ties to known terrorist organizations and how she received a security clearance with such ties.

For daring to ask this perfectly reasonable question, Rep. Bachmann, Rep Gohmert and other patriotic Americans have withstood a firestorm of attacks from the likes of:

The Washington Post's editorial board ("Michele Bachmann’s baseless attack on Huma Abedin")

Slate Magazine ("Michele Bachmann Still Pushing Muslim Brotherhood Conspiracy Despite GOP Disaproval" [sic])

The Los Angeles Times ("Michele Bachmann's dangerous paranoia")

• And idiotic, big-government sellout RINOs like John McCain and so-called "Speaker of the House" John Boehner.

It turns out that national security expert Ryan Mauro has unveiled tangible evidence that Abedin has direct ties herself -- not just through her brother, mother and late father (as if they weren't enough) -- to violent radicals :

Her mother, Dr. Saleha Abedin, is a member of the Muslim Sisterhood, the Brotherhood’s female counterpart... She is also a member of the Muslim World League, which terrorism expert Andrew McCarthy describes as “the Muslim Brotherhood’s principal vehicle for the international propagation of Islamic supremacist ideology.”

...the organization wants to get rid of laws against marital rape, permit marriage below the age of 18 and institute other elements of Sharia Law. She is also a board member of the International Islamic Council for Dawa and Relief (which the group she leads is part of), a group banned in Israel because it belongs to Qaradawi’s Union of Good, a network of “charities” set up to fund Hamas. The U.S. froze the Union of Good’s assets in November 2008...

...Huma Abedin’s late father, Dr. Syed Abedin, was also intimately involved with Islamists. He led the Institute of Muslim Minority Affairs based in Saudi Arabia. It is backed by the Muslim World League and is an entity of the World Assembly of Muslim Youth, a very extreme Islamist group. The Institute also published Mrs. Abedin’s book. Huma herself was an assisstant editor of the Institute’s journal as far back as 1996 and as recently as 2008, which means she was there when it published her mother’s extremist book. This screenshot from September 2008 shows that Huma, her mother and brother were all simultaneously editors of the journal.

Furthermore, Walid Shoebat has now delivered ironclad proof that McCain and the other apologists for Abedin and the Muslim Brotherhood were dead wrong (PDF).

Saleha Abedin is Vice Dean at Dar El-Hekma College in Saudi Arabia, Saleha was also one of the institution’s founders, along with Yaseen Abdullah Kadi—a designated terrorist by the U.S.—and members of the bin Laden family...

...Courtesy of Internet Archives, we were able to learn that Huma Abedin served as an Assistant Editor with IMMA from at least December 2, 2002—September 24, 2008. Her name fails to appear on the IMMA website some time before February 14, 2009. Presumably, Abedin left IMMA to accept her current position as Deputy Chief of Staff to Hillary Clinton... Huma worked and partnered together with her family at IMMA...

...From at least December 2, 2002—December 3, 2003, none other than Abdullah Omar Naseef served on the Advisory Editorial Board [with Huma]...

On October 12, 2001, the U.S. Treasury Department designated the Rabita Trust, a charity in Pakistan "for its close ties to senior al Qaida leadership and for providing logistical and financial support to Al Qaida." The Rabita Trust was founded in 1988 by Dr. Abdullah Omar Naseef, the former secretary general of the Muslim World League (MWL) in the 1980s.

...Obviously, this means that more than two years prior to Huma Abedin serving on a board with Naseef—and one month after the 9/11 attacks—Naseef was formally connected to Al-Qaeda by the U.S. Government.

...Bachmann’s argument stands; with this evidence presented, the burden of proof is on McCain to show that Huma was vetted and does not present a threat to National Security. Bachmann’s 16-page letter was not only regarding the Abedins, but “Brotherhood infiltration” in general... After examining this we believe that we provide ample proof for Huma’s involvement, ties and relationship with members of the Muslim Brotherhood... It becomes then obvious that Huma Abedin likely knew:

1—That the organization to which her family belonged was founded with the help of Al-Qaeda Godfather Abdullah Omar Naseef.
2—Her family ties existed well after IMMA’s inception, after 9/11, and well into 2006—2008 without any degrees of separation as claimed by CNN. The Abedins could not deny knowing about the widely known SAAR Network charity that Naseef managed.
3—Her mother was a member of the Muslim Brotherhood. Huma arranged for Hillary Clinton to speak alongside two Muslim Brotherhood members; Huma’s mother, Saleha Abedin and Suheir Qureshi who is listed by Al-Dustur and Al-Jazeera as a member. The complete list, including the 12 Saudi women members and the names of all 63 members are listed here. Evidence of these being involved with the Muslim Brotherhood is overwhelming.
4—That her brother is a fellow at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies (OCIS) with Abdullah Omar Naseef as the Chairman of the Board at OCIS with Muslim Brotherhood Sheikh Yusuf Al Qaradawi serving on the OCIS Board.
5—That leaving her job as editor at IMMA was necessary for her new job at the State Dept.
6—That her mother leads a group that endorses marital rape, under age marriage, and female genital mutilation...

No less an expert than John Bolton has defended Bachmann, Gohmert and other GOP representatives who are demanding an explanation of this seismic policy shift: Why are terrorists being granted access to the White House?

And does this "pivot" have anything to do with Hillary Clinton confidante Huma Abedin, who has proven and documented connections to the Muslim Brotherhood and a "Godfather" of Al Qaeda?

Or the fact that the White House approved $1.5 billion of your tax dollars going to the Nazi-aligned totalitarians known as the Muslim Brotherhood?

And as for the likes of John Boehner, John McCain, and Lindsey Graham: all three of you are embarrassments to the real Republican Party. I would urge all of you to resign, but your egos are too bloated, your sense of self-worth too inflated, and your ignorance far too pervasive to recognize the damage you are doing to this country. Suffice it to say that we will ignore you; and hope to place you on the back-benches in November.

Curiously Juxtaposed Obamacare Headlines o' the Day

Coincidental, I'm sure.

Exhibit A: Obama Loses 14 Points with Catholic Voters Over HHS Mandate

As more than 40 Catholic groups file suit against the Obama administration over its HHS mandate forcing them to pay for birth control and abortion-causing drugs for employees, new poling data shows President Barack Obama is tanking with Catholic voters... [Recent Pew Surveys show a] huge 14-point loss the pro-abortion president has had with Catholics in recent months...

Exhibit B: Obama Admin Signs $20M Contract for Obamacare Public Relations

Not only are Americans forced to fund abortions, and potentially rationing, in the Obamacare health care scheme, but new reports reveal they are spending $20 million on an election-year public relations plan to promote it.

The Health and Human Services Department signed a $20 million contract with a public-relations firm to promote Obamacare in a new multimedia ad campaign designed to educate the public about its supposed benefits. The Hill indicates the ad campaign was a mandate included in the final health care law.

As Mark Levin noted last night, if we had any House leadership at all, Kathleen Sebelius would be called in front of Congress and the responsible HHS managers charged with illegal campaign contributions to Obama's reelection effort.

But John Boehner is an intellectual and leadership lightweight. We've all had enough with the Repubicans, the wimps and the weaklings, who are more worried about consolidating their own power than saving America.

If we can get a couple o' dozen more Constitutional conservatives elected in November, I truly believe we can get Michele Bachmann or Allen West installed as Speaker of the House. Just think of it.

Good sign for Bachmann, Cain and Perry: Obama campaign preparing to run against Romney

Given the Obama administration's track record of failures (here's the short list: "Stimulus" programs, HAMP, HEMP, Cash-for-Clunkers, Obamacare, "Financial Reform", permanent 9% unemployment and 20% underemployment, the unlawful takeovers of GM and Chrysler, "Quantitative Easing", a new war, and $5.2 trillion in new Obama debt), I'd count this as excellent news for Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain, Ricks Perry and Santorum

Eight candidates took part in Tuesday's Republican presidential debate, but President Barack Obama's campaign focused its attention almost exclusively on one: Mitt Romney.

A day after Representative Michele Bachmann, businessman Herman Cain, and Texas Governor Rick Perry debated the economy with the former Massachusetts governor in New Hampshire, the Obama campaign held a conference call with reporters to zoom in on Romney alone.

The call was a sign the Obama campaign is preparing for the man most likely to take on the president in 2012, even if they cannot say that explicitly.

Shhh... no one tell the Axis of Fail that Herman Cain is currently leading Mitt Romney in the polls, having jumped 22 points in the last six weeks.

Ruh Roh: Senator Joe Lieberman Unsure Whether He Will Support Barack Obama in 2012

Senator Joe Lieberman, ostensibly a political independent but who caucuses with the Democrats, is wavering on the President.

Senator Joe Lieberman ... told host John McCaslin on America's Morning News radio show on Tuesday morning that he had not decided if he would endorse President Obama in 2012:

MCCASLIN: Will you be supporting Barack Obama in 2012 or are you going to be putting your money on a Republican candidate?

LIEBERMAN: Well I haven't decided and I'm just waiting to see who the Republican candidate is and what President Obama's positions are at that point, so I got a little time as an independent not to feel rushed, because this is an important position. And I'm only one person but for every one of us who we support next year is going to say a lot about how our kids and grandkids are going to grow up in America, so I'm watching.

Senator Lieberman appears to be losing confidence that President Obama could actually win in 2012. The Connecticut Senator also told WLS 890 am radio's Don Wade on Tuesday, whether President Obama will be re-elected is, “an open question.”

And who can blame him?

Furthermore, Lieberman is defending the GOP presidential candidates over their strong religious convictions.

Senator Joe Lieberman ... defended Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-Minn), Texas Governor Rick Perry, and former Governor of Massachusetts Mitt Romney against attacks they have received for speaking about their religious beliefs. Senator Lieberman says, " To me there's no good reason for it. If a person's faith matters, first its their right to say whatever they want. This is the history of our country. This country was founded on religious belief..."

[He was then asked], "Do you have a problem with Congresswoman Bachman, Governor Perry or former Governor Romney for their religious statements?" Senator Lieberman: "Oh God no, of course not. That's their faith. I give them all the credit. These kind of media attacks may backfire. Many Americans are turned off by that kind of sniping attacks."

Gee, but the Declaration of Independence only mentions God about six times, so I'm sure America's founders were intending to separate church and state.

Discovered: the Real Newsweek Cover Shot of Michele Bachmann

Strange. It's almost as if the Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself) coordinated their attacks on Michele Bachmann:

StinkProgress (by George Soros): "Bachmann: Obama Told Me The Affordable Care Act Eliminates Medicare"

Stuffington Roast: "Michele Bachmann Repeatedly Sought Stimulus, EPA, Other Government Funds"

ABC Spews: "Bachmann Likens US to Titanic in Visit to Iowa Plant"

RawStory: "Bachmann asked for stimulus money days after calling it an ‘orgy of spending’"

Gawker: "Jon Stewart Shames Newsweek for Its Michele Bachmann Cover"

Discover (!): "Reason and the Mind of Michele Bachmann"

Whoa.

Hold up.

Discover Magazine?

You're telling me that even Discover Magazine is slandering Michele Bachmann?

Hmmm...

Well, Jon, this is a curious article to find in "Discover". Tell me:

1. Which political party always advocates for more centralized, authoritarian government?

2. Which political party incessantly seeks to confiscate more and more of your private property -- the finite products of your mind and body -- to use for its own whims and desires?

3. Which political party created the most outrageous Ponzi schemes -- Social Security and Medicare among them -- that the world has ever seen?

4. Which political party continually stifles free enterprise and individual liberty with vast bureaucracies, ever-increasing regulations, and failed policies of wealth redistribution?

If you answered 'the Democrat Party' to each question, you're today's winner!

Michele Bachmann is the problem? No. Out-of-control, unconstitutional, sixties-retread Democrats are the problem, spending trillions borrowed from our children and grandchildren without their permission.

The Tea Party is the problem? Hardly.

But facts, logic, history and reason were never strong suits for the National Social Democrats.

Just wait until we find out whether Sarah Palin is running.

While Tucker Carlson Is Busy Investigating Michele Bachmann's Medicine Cabinet, Check Out This Scrapbook Biff Spackle Found

Yoo hoo, Tucker, look what our enterprising cub reporter Biff Spackle found in the dumpster behind ACORN headquarters:

The Secret Scrapbook of Barry Soetero Barack Obama

My early mentor "Frank" in Hawaii. Pity the neocons found out who it really was!

Here's my original registration at my first school in Jakarta, Indonesia. It has my old name (Barry Soetoro) with my religion listed as Islam. Go figure.

My grass roots organizing days, training ACORN (note: I don't condone trading crack cocaine for votes - "aggressive" voter registration: yes, crack: no).

At the beginning of my political career. I was a member of the Democratic Socialists of America's New Party and got a great endorsement from them. Stepping stones, baby, stepping stones! Of course, I still believe in wealth redistribution!

My first sugar daddy -- Tony Rezko -- in the early years. And to think I used to consider 250 grand a lot of dough!

The education guru, Bill Ayers! Thank goodness no one ever figured out that he named me the Chairman of the Annenberg Challenge before the political "coming out party" at his and Bernadine's house!

Here's me and Jimmy Hoffa (the son, silly, I was only 9 when his Dad disappeared!)

My spiritual mentor, Jeremiah, who always gets the crowd riled up! (Of course, I never heard any of it -- tee hee!)

Me and Michie at the Arab-American Action Network dinner with Ed Said (hey, he's no longer a member of the PLO, 'cause he's dead!)

Boy, this church newsletter caused me some problems! Jeremiah published this Hamas editorial and I heard no end of grief. Of course, no one in the real world knows I read it and empathize!

My buddy the Rev. James Meeks (I know he's a gay-basher, but he mixes a great martini!)

This is from my trip to Kenya in '96 where I supported my cousin Raila Odinga. He was also running for office. He's a great guy who wants to bring order back to the country (I know so because he signed this "Memorandum of Understanding" to bring Taliban-style Sharia law to Kenya)!

Two community organizers make good!

Back in the motherland!

Here's ex-Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick -- he's in a bit of legal trouble, but I included this photo 'cuz it shows my favorite teleprompter.

I hate that b***h!

I LOVE THIS GUY!

I'll Give You Three Guesses Who's Behind The Daily Caller's Migraine Hit Piece on Michele Bachmann (Or Should I Call It 'The Daily Cromney'?)

Monday's feature article on Michele Bachmann in The Daily Cromney ("Stress-related condition ‘incapacitates’ Bachmann; heavy pill use alleged") was one of the more thinly veiled Beltway hit pieces in recent memory. Reporter Jonathan Strong -- if that is his real name -- utilized a series of laughably anonymous and unattributable allegations to tar Bachmann.

The Minnesota Republican frequently suffers from stress-induced medical episodes that she has characterized as severe headaches. These episodes, say witnesses, occur once a week on average and can “incapacitate” her for days at time

...Some close to Bachmann fear she won’t be equal to the stress of the campaign, much less the presidency itself.

...“As president, when she’s in crisis management mode, is she going to have the physical ability to withstand the most difficult challenges facing America?” the former aide asks.

TheDC agreed to provide the sources anonymity because they were providing information only a select group of people could know, at great professional risk...

...Two sources independently provided detailed accounts of Bachmann’s condition. A third source confirmed that Bachmann frequently suffers from debilitating headache episodes.

Coincidentally, two sources reported to me that Jonathan Strong enjoys consorting with underaged panda bears. They brought this information at great professional risk to themselves. A third source confirmed that Strong has been seen at the zoo late at night wearing only a trench coat.

I find it fascinating that a powerful media outlet -- associated with an inside-the-Beltway regular, Tucker Carlson -- suddenly attacks Michele Bachmann using New York Times-style tactics (remember the fabricated McCain/lobbyist affair hit piece?). There's only one reason for this sort of thing: Mitt Romney is feeling the heat.

And, gee, Tucker, aren't there more important things to "investigate" if we're going to save this Republic?

Ah... Sorry to bother you President Obama, Sir

Excuse me Mr. Obama, I mean President Obama, sir. Uhm... know you are busy and important and stuff. I mean serving as president is very important and . . . ah... I hate to bother you. I will only take a minute okay, sir?

See, I have these missing pieces that are holding me up, and I was wondering sir, if you could take time out of your busy schedule and help me out. You know, no big deal, just some loose ends and things.

Hey, this White House sure is a nice place! The wife sees pictures of this place on TV all the time and says boy she wishes she had digs like this you know? Is that painting real? Really? Wow. I saw something like that in a museum once!

Oh, sorry sir. I didn't mean to get off the track. So if you could just help me out a minute and give me some details, I will get right out of your way. I want to close this case and maybe take the wife to Coney Island or something. Ever been to Coney Island? No, I didn't think so...

Well, listen, anyways, I can't seem to get some information I need to wrap this up. These things seem to either be 'locked' or 'not available'. I'm sure it's just some oversight or glitch or something, so if you could you tell me where these things are... ... ...have them written down here somewhere... oh wait. Sorry about the smears. It was raining out. I'll just read it to you.

Could you help me please find these things, sir?

1. Occidental College records and transcripts -- Not released
2. Columbia University records and transcripts -- Not released
3. Columbia Thesis paper -- 'not available'
4. Harvard University records and transcripts -- Not released
5. Selective Service Registration -- Not released
6. Medical records -- Not released
7. Illinois State Senate schedule -- 'not available'
8. Law practice client list -- Not released
9. Written correspondence with B. Ayers, R. Khalidi, E. Said, J. Wright, etc. -- Not released
10. Embossed, signed paper Birth Certificate -- Not released
11. Harvard Law Review articles published -- None
12. University of Chicago scholarly articles -- None
13. Record of Baptism -- Not released or 'not available'
14. Illinois State Senate records -- 'not available'

Oh hey... listen! I know you are busy! Is this too much for you now? I mean tell you what. I will come back tomorrow. Give you some time to get these things together, you know? I mean, I know you are busy, so I will just let myself out. I will be back tomorrow. And the day after...

'Who wants to know these things?' asks President Obama.

The American People, answers Columbo.

But not Tucker Carlson, apparently.

You can help out Michele Bachmann's campaign here.

Charting the GOP Candidates on Conservatism

Nate Silver's column at The New York Times is usually about as exciting as listening to two safety engineers argue the merits of non-glare glass. But this chart, pointed out at Ace o' Spades, is actually quite fascinating.

If you want more big government, more cap-and-trade swill, and just a slower on-ramp to Marxism, well, then Huckabee Huntsman and Romney are your guys.

Otherwise, the only candidates worth supporting at this point are Bachmann and Cain (Perry would be a reasonable choice if he ever throws his hat in).

Here's an interesting conjecture: I would bet Sarah Palin would be closer to Perry than Bachmann. What say you?

Hey, Chris Wallace: do you know how many people called Michele Bachmann a 'flake' before you slandered her on Sunday? None, dimwit.

Through the magic of a cool new research tool called Google (you may have heard of it, Chris), I decided to find out who had called GOP presidential candidate Michele Bachmann a "flake" prior to Chris Wallace's interview.

After all, Wallace had asserted that was "the rap" on Bachmann.

To test this assertion, I constructed a fairly complex query (here) that found all pages that mentioned:

• 'Michelle Bachmann' and the word 'flake'

Omitting the following pages:

• Those referencing the last name 'Wallace' or his show 'Fox News Sunday'
• Posted On 6/26 through 6/28 2011

Here are the complete results:

Er, Chris, no one had called Bachmann a 'flake'.

'Cepting you, of course.

Which means one of two things: you're an agenda journalist trying to demean a conservative female... or... you were showing off for Jon Stewart.

In either case, you're a decidedly unserious choice for any job at Fox News.

We can tune into ABC, CBS or NBC for this type of horsecrap.

All Americans Shoulds Receive ObamaCare Waivers [Michele Bachmann]

By Michele Bachmann

Since its passage last year, over 1,300 ObamaCare waivers have been rewarded, exempting nearly 3.1 million Americans out of the monstrous health care overhaul. With several hundred more waivers pending, the Obama Administration has decided it will no longer accept waiver applications after September 22nd of this year. These waivers are extremely telling; if ObamaCare was truly the reform our healthcare system needs, why is the Administration allowing so many to opt out of the program?

It comes as no surprise that hundreds of companies are applying for waivers from ObamaCare. Business owners across the country continue to voice concern over how to implement the new ObamaCare rules without paying fines, laying off workers or even going bankrupt. As the book Why ObamaCare is Wrong for America points out, “ObamaCare will lead to slower wage growth, fewer job opportunities, and more businesses going under.”

Yet, the waiver-granting process became increasingly questionable as companies applied for exemptions. It seemed that ObamaCare regulators were passing out waivers mostly to friends of the Administration. For instance, of the 204 waivers granted by the Administration in April, nearly twenty percent went to some of the finest restaurants and businesses within House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s district. Even more jaw-dropping, of those 3.1 million individuals exempted from ObamaCare through waivers, over half – 1.55 million – are union members.

President Obama’s health care reform grows the size of government and increases its impact on our lives. According to Why ObamaCare is Wrong for America, ObamaCare sets in motion a massive federal bureaucracy with at least 159 new federal agencies, creates more than $500 billion in new taxes and will take $575 billion away from Medicare. In my view, it is time that every American, regardless of their relationship with the Administration, receives a permanent waiver from ObamaCare. I remain committed to working towards the complete repeal of this legislation.

Chris Wallace's Greatest Interview Questions

The bizarre interview of GOP front-runner Michele Bachmann ("Are you a flake?") by Fox News analyst Chris Wallace wasn't his first encounter with controversy.

Although I wonder if he'd have the cojones to ask the following questions.

"Are you a Marxist? I mean, that's what the rap on you is?"

"Are you a bit too ample in the derriere to be lecturing people on their diets? I mean, that's what the rap on you is -- too much 'junk in the trunk', if you will."

"Are you as stupid as you sound? Let's face it, that's what the rap on you is?"

"Are you a pathological liar? I'm sure you know that's what the rap on you is?"

"Are you a mentally unbalanced, barely coherent dimwit? I mean, that's what the rap on you is?"

"Are you a perverted wanker? That's what the rap on you is?"

* * * * * * * * *

Hey, Wallace: go drink a big tall glass of shut-up juice, you freaking dweeb.

The new civility: Rolling Stone slanders Michele Bachmann as 'bats*** crazy', with 'testicles swinging under her skirt', a 'political psychopath'

The Left's 80-year war on the Constitution continues apace, its latest chapter written by a progressive nut named Matt Taibbi -- if that is his real name. His profile of Michele Bachmann in Rolling Stone is rife with the usual leftist tripe: childish name-calling and a half-baked, biased history. And it is even more devoid of facts, logic and reason than usual.

Furthermore, when it comes to Jon Huntsman's civility pledge yesterday, apparently Taibbi didn't get the memo. Among the unserious insults hurled Bachmann's way:

• She is a 'goofball'

• Her Tea Party backers are 'dimwitted'

• She 'is a religious zealot whose brain is a raging electrical storm of divine visions and paranoid delusions'

• She 'looks like the T2 skeleton posing for a passport photo'

• Bachmann is 'completely bats*** crazy'

• She's 'living completely inside her own mind'

• Her record is one 'of lies and embellishments and contradictions'

• She is a 'political psychopath, equal parts crazed Divine Wind kamikaze-for-Jesus and calculating, six-faced Machiavellian prevaricator'

• Her 'greatest quality [is] the gigantic set of burnished titanium Terminator-testicles swinging under her skirt'

• She is 'a threat to do or say something insane at any time'

Someone who strikes this much fear into the far left kooks at Rolling Stone must be a damn fine conservative candidate.

Which is why the professional left wants the GOP to nominate the ludicrous Jon Hussein Huntsman.

Net net: Bachmann is now leading in the GOP polls.

Tremble, Taibbi. The Tea Party is coming for you and the rest of the Marxist left in 2012. And we are going to turn you America-haters out.

Holy freaking crap! Rasmussen: Michele Bachmann surges to second place, Herman Cain to third in GOP primary

As Allahpundit might have put it: "Oh, my."

In the race for the Republican nomination, Mitt Romney still leads, but Michelle Bachmann has surged to second place. Herman Cain is the only other candidate in double digits...

Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney continues to lead the race for the Republican nomination, but Michele Bachmann has surged into second place following her Monday night entry into the campaign.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely GOP Primary Voters, taken following the candidates’ Monday night debate, shows Romney earning 33% support, with Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann a surprise second at 19%. Georgia businessman Herman Cain is in third place with 10% of the vote...

Just 27% now believe the U.S. is generally heading in the right direction.

Say, I've been out of town for a while.

How are those Stimulus, HAMP, Cash-for-Clunkers, Weatherization, Green Jobs, Obamacare, "Banking Reform", drilling moratorium, First-Time Home-Buyer Credit, auto company takeovers and QE2 programs working out?

For you drones out there, that's a rhetorical question. As for you patriots, my beloved readers: would you like to support a true Constitutional conservative for President? Then support Michele Bachmann for President.

Tyrrell: Michele Bachmann steals the show

Emmett Tyrrell, Jr. lays down a straight riff.

...Explaining how she voted for Paul Ryan’s budget, she said she did so “with an asterisk” because the “asterisk is that we’ve got a huge messaging problem [on Medicare]. It needs to be called the 55-and-Under Plan. I can’t tell you the number of 78-year-old women who think we’re going to pull the rug out from under them.”

Mrs. Bachmann has faced up to the Democrats’ gaudy lie that people, aged 56 and over, are facing Medicare cuts with the Ryan Plan. They are not, not with the Ryan budget. Though with the Obamacare Plan we are all facing the eclipse of Medicare. Medicare will be slashed for everyone very soon, and that is written into the President’s policy...

In her interview with the Journal Mrs. Bachmann explained that she is versed in the economists: Walter Williams, Thomas Sowell, Ludwig von Mises, and Milton Friedman. You cannot get much better than that, and I saved Friedman for last. He is the modern master in understanding the modern economy.

...The Liberals have, like a vast shoal of squid, spread an inky cloud over the financial meltdown. Mrs. Bachmann dispels the darkness regarding its origins. Says she, “There were a lot of bad actors involved, but it started with the Community Reinvestment Act under Jimmy Carter and then the enhanced amendments that Bill Clinton made to force, in effect, banks to make loans to people who lacked creditworthiness. If you want to come down to a bottom line of ‘How did we get in this mess?’ I think it was a reduction in standards.” Whereupon she goes on to say, “Being of the Financial Services Committee, I can assure you, all roads lead to Freddie and Fannie,” the mortgage lenders; and off she goes talking about Constitutional limits. She has a Tea Partyer’s proper concern for the Constitution.

The other night it is said that no one really stood out. I disagree. The pulchritudinous Michele Bachmann stole the show. She was charismatic and eloquent. She got the most attention and she had only been in the race a few minutes. Give her a few more debates, and we shall see just how ready she is for a national run.

Of the declared candidates, my top three are Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain and Rick Santorum. Any one of them would crush Barack Obama in a debate. Any. One. Of. Them.
