The ill-named Affordable Care Act -- also known as Obamacare -- has been a "trainwreck" according to its very architects since day one. From the CLASS Act, to the delay of the Employer Mandate, to exempting Congress from the law, the sheer size and complexity of this partisan bill makes it virtually impossible to implement.

I and my peers, all of us, we took an oath to uphold the Constitution. And today we are going to stand by that oath and defend the Constitution of the United States.

This bill was passed in an unconstitutional fashion -- with bribes and payoffs and other skulduggery -- by a single party that temporarily held power during the 110th Congress. The bill consisted of thousands of pages and not one person was permitted to read the bill before it was voted upon.

This bill fundamentally changes the relationship of the citizen to the government.

This is an unconscionable violation of representative government. Nancy Pelosi famously told us we had to pass the bill to find out what's in it. Now we know, and it's an unconstitutional disaster.

Because a single judge bows to some unknown pressure, and changes his vote at the last minute to rewrite a bill that is clearly unconstitutional... because, unlike every other entitlement program, Democrats had no Republican support for this bill...

Because Democrats used every underhanded tactic -- bribes, payoffs and corporate reacharounds -- possible to pass a bill that not one of them read before voting upon...

Because the IRS, already caught punishing groups based upon their political and religious affiliations, will be the enforcers of Obamacare... because radical, left wing groups like La Raza and ACORN will be hired as "Obamacare Navigators" with access to their political opponents' most sensitive health care data...

Because jobs are being destroyed. Because good jobs are disappearing before our very eyes as small businesses are driven not to hire by the law. Because full-time jobs are turning to part-time jobs. Because employers are slashing benefits for spouses and other family members to adapt to a law no one read.

Because the lies that were told to sell this bill were as awful as they were brazen... Because you can't keep your policy, you can't keep your doctor, you can't keep your plan, you can't keep your insurer, and you will pay far more, not far less...

Because Democrat lobbyists and staffers are raking in million advising companies how to comply with the tens of thousands of pages of regulations that this law has spawned... Because they have built a law so complex that no one can possibly understand its effects without paying off the very people who created it!

Most of all, because the people who want Obamacare most are the very same people who have exempted themselves from the law! Obamacare waivers have been issued for Congress, staffers, unions, special interest groups...

I have a question for President Obama and the Democrats? Aren't the American people the most important special interest group Congress serves? The vast majority of Americans want a waiver from Obamacare, just like the lobbyists and the other Beltway elites.

True to my word, Republicans will not shut down the government. We have passed a continuing resolution that funds every single aspect of the federal government except for Obamacare. Every single penny.

But we are drawing a line in the sand when it comes to the trainwreck of Obamacare. We want at least a year delay in its implementation, just like Congress, just like the unions, just like the employers subject to the mandate, and just like other Democrat special interests got.

So if Democrats want to shut down the government, so be it. The House Continuing Resolution funds the entirety of the government -- every single penny -- just not the trainwreck called Obamacare, which President Obama has already defunded for his pals. The vast majority of the American people have told us over and over again: we want a waiver from Obamacare too, just like Congress got.

Call up your Representative and Senators now and tell them: we want a waiver too. Pass the House Continuing Resolution and delay Obamacare now.

INFURIATING: Senate to Vote on Air Support for Al Qaeda on 9/11

I cribbed most of that headline from Pamela Geller, who calls it a "perverse horror":

President Obama cleared his first hurdle on Wednesday in his push for a military strike in Syria, as a key Senate panel voted to authorize the use of force... The Senate Foreign Relations Committee voted 10-7, with one senator voting present, to approve a military strike in response to a deadly chemical weapons attack last month.

The Senate now plans to return early from recess and meet Friday to file the resolution, setting up a key test vote in the full chamber as early as next Wednesday [9/11].

Josh Rogin reports that Harry Reid and Democrats in the Senate are violating the rules to cover for Obama's embarrassing 'red line' gaffe.

Senate Democratic leadership tossed aside the rules for moving legislation with regard to the resolution authorizing the use of military force against Syria, angering some Republicans and creating confusion on Capitol Hill in the run-up to the war vote ... some GOP Senate offices are upset with what they see as a rush by Democratic leadership to pass the war authorization outside the rules that govern how legislation goes through the committee process.

“This is a rush to war behind closed doors,” one senior GOP Senate aide said. “We were told there was a need to have a thoughtful and public debate about how this nation goes to war, but this seems to be about simply getting a resolution done to cover the president.”

A rush to war to "cover [for] the president"?

A rush to war to support Al Qaeda on, of all dates, 9/11?

And what are John Boehner and Eric Cantor doing? Well, like clockwork they continue to ignore the will of the people -- who oppose Syrian intervention by overwhelming margins -- to help cover for a failed president.

Meanwhile, where does the House stand with the NSA Scandal, the Benghazi investigation, the IRS Scandal, the investigation into DOJ wiretapping of reporters and their families?

Meanwhile, where does the House stand with defunding Obamacare, the Continuing Resolution, or the Debt Ceiling debacles that face us in mere weeks?

Meanwhile, what was Boehner's priority prior to the Syrian diversion? Amnesty for illegal immigrants.

Michael Walsh is right: we have a "partisan fusion party."

And no one in Washington represents "we, the people" any longer.

They all support war in Syria, even though we have no idea whether anyone actually used chemical weapons and, if they were used, who used them; or who we're fighting for; or what the goal is; or whether a regional or global conflict will result; or how blowing up some camels helps U.S. national security interests. Aside from those issues, the case for action is rock solid.

But I have no earthly idea why John Boehner, Eric Cantor and Karl Rove would support this bumbling, feckless administration when there is no concrete proof that: (a) chemical weapons were used; and (b) who used them if they were indeed employed.

Writing at World Tribune, Yossef Bodansky reports that there is evidence a "Aug. 21 chemical strike in the Damascus suburbs was indeed a premeditated provocation by the Syrian opposition."

Tactician Extraordinaire John Boehner Lays Out Secret Game-plan for Losing Both the House and His Speakership

In his typical savvy fashion, House Speaker John Boehner has reportedly unveiled a secret, two-fold plan for demoralizing the Republican base, thereby reverting all three branches of government to Democrat control.

1 Even though 80 House Republican have signed a letter urging Boehner to defund Obamacare, Boehner refuses to use the power of the purse to kill the most unpopular law since prohibition.

Boehner told the House Republican membership in a [confidential] telephone meeting a short while ago that the Republican leadership will NOT pursue defunding Obamacare, that they will only pursue saving from the sequestration

Mark Levin suggests calling the Unaffordable Care Act "BoehnerCare". I don't think that's fair, since Barack Obama gave birth to it. Instead, I suggest we use "O'BoehnerCare".

2 Despite an overwhelming majority of Americans who believe the border must be secured before any Amnesty or immigration reform is contemplated, John Boehner is secretly pressuring House Republicans to pass the Senate Amnesty bill, even though he publicly claims he's against it.

Senior GOP aides of a super PAC linked to Speaker John Boehner are lobbying House Republicans to pass the Senate “Gang of Eight” immigration bill, legislation that Boehner has said he will not bring to the House floor.

The lobbying effort is coming under the umbrella of the American Action Network, a nonprofit 501(c)(4) “action tank” led by former senator Norm Coleman, which is touting the “major positive economic impact” of the Senate bill in e-mails sent to individual House Republican offices.

AAN is housed in the same office as the Congressional Leadership Fund, a super PAC associated with Boehner, and the two organizations share senior aides, including Brian O. Walsh, the president of both organizations, and Dan Conston, the spokesman for both... Boehner spoke at a fundraiser for CLN earlier this summer and also headlined the organization’s inaugural event. The group’s website has posted links to numerous news stories that refer to the group as “Boehner’s” super PAC.

In other words, John Boehner is lying to the Republican base and is lying to the American people.

Let me put this in words simple enough for even Boehner to understand: you pass this job-destroying Amnesty bill, you will have sealed the fate of the GOP for decades.

You will lose your Speakership -- guaranteed -- and you will then return to the back-bench of the House, having been booted back to minority status. Then you will watch Nancy Pelosi -- or whatever Marxist the Democrats elect -- take the gavel from your nicotine-stained fingers while you cry like a baby that needs a diaper change.

Attention, Reince Priebus and John Boehner: More Than a Dozen Maine Republicans Just Fled the Party

If the Republican Party disintegrates, you can thank its spineless [air quotes] "leadership" including John Boehner and Reince Priebus. James Daniels at DownTrend explains:

Bangor Daily News published an interesting letter Monday from 13 Maine Republicans to State GOP Secretary Chuck Mahaleris. The letter, signed by six Maine Republican state committee members, a state RNC member and six other registered Republicans, addresses numerous glaring problems within the party both at the state and federal level.

One of their most notable criticisms is that of Speaker of the House John Boehner. The defecting Republicans condemn him for his decision to purge the most fiscally conservative Republicans from their leadership positions in late 2012.

And, they criticize the House’s “utter disdain” for the Constitution in its handling of the Amash Amendment, which would have restrained NSA surveillance... Among their other criticisms of Congressional Republicans include their support for:

• An Internet sales tax
• Gun control
• Illegal immigrants
• Illegal wars

The group also claims the RNC has “no intention of reforming and would rather fly under invalid rules than to right the wrongs of Tampa” in reference to rules battles that have taken place since the 2012 convention...

Hopefully, their decision will serve as a wakeup call to the Republican Party, which all-too-often abandons the principles of fiscal responsibility and freedom for its own gain. Until then, let’s hope more Republicans (and Democrats, for that matter) jump ship instead of contributing to the destruction of the very values that once made America great.

Mark Levin alludes to this kind of drastic action in his new book, The Liberty Amendments. Levin asserts that the answers for fixing Washington cannot be found in Washington.

The answers instead lie in the power of the states, the very states that gave birth to the federal government. These powers, articulated in the second amendment process of Article V of the Constitution, have laid dormant for more than two centuries.

The second Article V process allows the states to amend the Constitution without any Congressional or Executive Branch involvement. It bypasses the federal government altogether. It is an escape hatch against an oppressive federal government.

Levin notes that the second process was only included at the insistence of George Mason -- the famed anti-federalist -- who predicted the very quandary in which know find ourselves. That is, a federal government run amok, with each branch conspiring with the other to evade the constraints of the Constitution, growing ever larger and more tyrannical, tightening the circle of liberty around each individual like a noose.

Such a federal government, Mason presciently observed, would never agree to limit itself. And such is the political landscape today, with a far left political-and-media complex running an Executive and an immense, unelected fourth branch of government, unchecked by the courts and assisted by Congress.

Levin's approach is an escape hatch for liberty.

The states that created the federal government must be the instruments that reign it back in, reestablishing the Constitutional limits that made America great.

Will Mark Levin Actually Moderate the GOP Debates? Exclusive Interview with RNC Communications Director Sean Spicer

A few days ago Sean Spicer, the Communications Director of the Republican National Committee, made a surprising statement: he said that Mark Levin should moderate the GOP debates. Levin has formally accepted the offer. To explore this issue and a few others, I made a few attempts to get a hold of Mr. Spicer and, after a time, was able to synch up with him this evening.

Ross: Sean, thanks very much for taking the time out of your schedule to meet with us. Give us a little bit of background on yourself and how you arrived at the RNC and rose to such a key position.

Spicer: I got involved in several Congressional campaigns, House races in the nineties... after a time, I became the Republican National Congressional Committee's Retention Director. Three years later, I became a spokesman for the House Budget Committee. More recently, for the last three years of the Bush Administration I had a very lengthy title, but was really a trade spokesman.

Ross: Sean, a recent statement you made really caught conservatives by surprise -- and in a positive way. You said you thought Mark Levin and perhaps other conservative thought leaders should moderate GOP debates. How serious was that statement and did the reaction catch you by surprise?

Spicer: That was a very serious statement. Obviously, we're not at a point yet of picking debate forums or moderators, but we are definitely committed to energizing the conservative base. It's common sense: anyone's who listening to Rush, Levin, Hannity... they are addressing the issues that the grassroots are concerned with.

What I also find absolutely unbelievable is that in 2008 Chris Matthews, of all people, moderated two GOP debates. Yet why wouldn't we insist on the converse situation?

Ross: Mark Levin and other conservative pundits have been pretty harsh on the GOP leadership. Where, in your view, is that criticism legitimate and where do you think it's off-base?

Spicer: I'm not sure what the question is... what are you asking?

Ross: One of the many things that seems to aggravate the grassroots is the apparent disdain the RNC has for the conservative base. Is this an unfair impression and, if so, why?

Spicer: Look, we cannot win without the Tea Party, Constitutional conservatives, etc. And anyone who doesn't understand that isn't paying attention. We know the importance of the grassroots.

Ross: Fair enough, but we look at races like Dick Lugar vs. Richard Mourdock, Karl Rove attacking Christine O'Donnell, Lisa Murkowski going after Joe Miller, John McCain attacking Ted Cruz, etc. It seems as though when an establishment Republican loses to a conservative in a primary, they often do everything they can to sabotage the Republican side in the race. Yet when a conservative loses in a primary, the reverse seldom (if ever) happens. Is that accurate or inaccurate in your view?

Spicer: I would dispute the accuracy of that. Picking out individual situations involving Dick Lugar and Karl Rove... those aren't the RNC. We're not defending John Boehner or John McCain. We're not there to promote or defend particular policies or issues.

What I will tell you is that we have a huge fight on our hands and we need as united a front as we can get.

Ross: Where is the outreach to bloggers? I've been around nearly 10 years now and haven't seen much formal outreach to the folks I know. Am I missing something? Is there some formal program or platform that's needed?

Spicer: We are definitely connected to some of the major bloggers. We're not perfect, for sure, but we have regular dealings with RedState, Guy Benson, Katie Pavlich, etc. So, factually, I'm not sure that's totally accurate. Our staff is trying to reach out, and we'd like to help.

We also don't view it as a one-way street. If you need content, if you need messaging, ask us. We understand that it's not just spamming out messages, we want to help the blogosphere.

Ross: What was a very energized conservative base in 2010 now appears, in my view, very dispirited and unlikely to turn out (at least at this point) for the mid-terms. This could spell disaster for the GOP and literally could permanently eradicate the Republican Party by returning control of the House to Nancy Pelosi.

Some sample reasons for a major decline in morale:
- A year after the attack in Benghazi and despite a huge majority of Republican House members signing on for a Select Committee, the Speaker refuses to dedicate staff and funding, despite this being a very common way to address controversial tactics by an administration
- One of the articles of impeachment for Nixon related to his political handling of the IRS; yet Congress hasn't called for a special prosecutor
- Likewise, unlawful attacks on the press -- from the AP to James Rosen -- have been largely ignored
- Obamacare law is being systematically rewritten by the president, with no less a commentator than George Will labeling it an impeachable crime

So the impression of the base is that our constitutional system of checks and balances is being systematically dismantled, and there's virtually no visible efforts by the House to push back. Instead, they want to slide Amnesty -- of all things -- by the American people.

Spicer: Look, our current immigration system is broken --

Ross: And who broke it? Congress --

Spicer: But ultimately the system needs to be fixed --

Ross: And that's what I don't understand. Pew indicates that 7 out of 8 of legalized illegals would vote Democrat. Why would the GOP want to commit political suicide?

Spicer: Look, we are well aware that border security is paramount.

Ross: But everything we read indicates that there's an effort to break the Senate bill into little pieces to make it appear border security will come first, when in fact it will all end up in a conference committee and a Schumer-Reid Amnesty Bill would emerge --

Spicer: But that's pure speculation, and truly not in my wheelhouse. We know how important border security will be, we know it's critical.

As for a Select Committee on Benghazi, I've been told the normal committee process is working... that's not in my wheelhouse to be sure, but --

Ross: But a Select Committee, with an experienced prosecutor --

Spicer: Again, that's not really my area, but I can assure you there is focus.

Ross: Well, Sean, I know you're short on time, but I do want to thank you for your willingness to open lines of communication here.

Spicer: Just to reemphasize, we both want the same things. We want to get the system back under control. We may differ on some of the tactics, but we have to figure out how to cooperate, because if we don't, the other side wins. And we all know what that means.

Ross: Thanks, Sean.

It Would Seem That the Email Address of Sean Spicer, the so-called RNC "Communications Director", is a National Secret

There's a rumor circulating that the Republican Party has a Communications Director by the name of "Sean Spicer".

Sean Spicer, the communications director for the Republican National Committee (RNC), said conservative talk radio host Mark Levin should ask 2016 Republican presidential candidates questions in debates during the next election cycle... [he said,] "the people who are out there talking to grassroots" should be asking Republican presidential candidates questions in the debates...

"Mark Levin should ask the questions," Spicer declared...

...He urged listeners to follow him and send him feedback and ideas on twitter to him (@SeanSpicer) and Priebus (@Reince).
Spicer said he could not emphasize how even the simplest suggestion can be adopted and help make the RNC better and more receptive to the concerns that grassroots conservatives, bloggers, and activists have...

I had the idea of interviewing Mr. Spicer concerning his offer to Levin -- which the famed author, attorney and radio host has formally accepted -- but contacting the "Communications" director has proven more difficult than interviewing Jimmy Hoffa.

19 Illegal Immigration Facts You'll Never Read in Legacy Media

Should we roll out the red carpet and allow millions upon millions of thieves, rapists, gang members and drug dealers to come waltzing into this country any time they would like? Should we broadcast a message to the rest of the world that anyone that can find a way to enter this country and somehow get to a “sanctuary city” can sign up for a plethora of welfare benefits and live a life of leisure at the expense of hard working American citizens?

And unfortunately, Democrats now say that they have the Republican votes that they need to get “immigration reform” through the House of Representatives. If this amnesty bill becomes law, it will encourage even more illegal immigration and it will be one more step toward making the U.S. border essentially meaningless.

Right now, we desperately need the American people to contact their representatives in Congress and demand that they vote against this bill. Sadly, this is not likely to happen because most Americans have absolutely no idea how negatively illegal immigration is affecting this nation.

The following are 19 very disturbing facts about illegal immigration that every American should know…

#1 57 percent of all households that are led by an immigrant (legal or illegal) are enrolled in at least one welfare program.

#2 According to one study, the cost to U.S. taxpayers of legalizing current illegal immigrants would be approximately 6.3 trillion dollars over the next 50 years.

#3 The Obama administration has distributed flyers that tell illegal immigrants that their immigration status will not be checked when they apply for food stamps.

#4 The Department of Homeland Security says that it has lost track of a million people that have entered this country but that appear never to have left.

#5 One out of every five children living in Los Angeles County has a parent that is in the country illegally.

#6 In one recent year, taxpayers in Los Angeles County spent 600 million dollars on welfare for children of illegal immigrants.

#7 Thanks to illegal immigration, California’s overstretched health care system is on the verge of collapse. Dozens of California hospitals and emergency rooms have shut down over the past decade because they could not afford to stay open after being endlessly swamped by illegal immigrants who were simply not able to pay for the services that they were receiving. As a result, the remainder of the health care system in the state of California is now beyond overloaded. This had led to brutally long waits, diverted ambulances and even unnecessary patient deaths. At this point, the state of California now ranks dead last out of all 50 states in the number of emergency rooms per million people.

#8 It has been estimated that U.S. taxpayers spend $12,000,000,000 a year on primary and secondary school education for the children of illegal immigrants.

#9 It is estimated that illegal aliens make up approximately 30 percent of the population in federal, state and local prisons and that the total cost of incarcerating them is more than $1.6 billion annually.

#10 The federal government actually has a website that teaches immigrants how to sign up for welfare programs once they arrive in the United States.

#11 The Obama administration recently introduced the very first “unmanned” border station along the Texas-Mexico border.

#12 The Obama administration has sued individual states such as Arizona that have tried to crack down on illegal immigration.

#13 According to the FBI, there are approximately 1.4 million gang members living in our cities. Illegal immigration has been one of the primary factors that has fueled the growth of these gangs.

#14 As I have written about previously, there are only about 200 police officers assigned to Chicago’s Gang Enforcement Unit to handle the estimated 100,000 gang members living in the city.

#15 Mexican drug cartels make approximately 6.6 billion dollars a year “exporting” illegal drugs to the United States.

#16 It is an open secret that Mexican drug cartels are openly conducting military operations inside the United States. The handful of border patrol agents that we have guarding the border are massively outgunned and outmanned.

#17 According to the Justice Department’s National Drug Intelligence Center, Mexican drug cartels were actively operating in 50 different U.S. cities in 2006. By 2010, that number had skyrocketed to 1,286.

#18 Overall, more than 55,000 people have been killed in drug-related violence in Mexico since 2006. That same level of violence will eventually show up in major U.S. cities unless something dramatic is done about illegal immigration.

#19 It is being projected that the Senate immigration bill will bring 33 million more people to the United States over the next decade.

One of the very few things that the federal government is actually required to do by the U.S. Constitution is to defend our borders, and unfortunately the Obama administration has willingly chosen to leave our borders completely wide open. In fact, you can go down to the Texas border right now and watch illegal immigrants hop right across the Rio Grande.

Several retired Border Patrol agents recently drafted an open letter to the American people on the subject of illegal immigration, and what they had to say was quite startling. The following is an excerpt from that letter that was in a recent Breitbart article…

“Transnational criminal enterprises have annually invested millions of dollars to create and staff international drug and human smuggling networks inside the United States; thus it is no surprise that they continue to accelerate their efforts to get trusted representatives in place as a means to guarantee continued success,” the Border Patrol agents wrote.

“We must never lose sight of the fact that the United States is the market place for the bulk of transnational criminal businesses engaged in human trafficking and the smuggling, distribution and sale of illegal drugs. Organized crime on this scale we are speaking about cannot exist without political protection.”

According to those retired border agents, by refusing to secure our border the Obama administration is openly facilitating the trafficking of drugs into the United States…

“Most heroin, cocaine, meth, and marijuana marketed in the United States is produced outside of our country, and then smuggled into the United States,” they wrote. “The placement of trusted foreign employees inside the United States is imperative to insure success in continuing to supply the demand, and returning the profits to the foreign organization. Members of these vicious transnational crime syndicates are already well established in more than 2,000 American cities and their numbers are increasing as networks expand and demands accelerate. These transnational criminals present a real and present danger to all Americans, and they live among us.”

Sadly, in politically correct America you can’t even talk about the problem of illegal immigration these days without being labeled as a “racist”.

For the record, I believe that all people deserve love and respect no matter what they look like or where they are born. God created us all and He loves us all very much. I have long been a very strong advocate for racial reconciliation in this country, and I will continue to be.

And there are tens of millions of Latino-Americans in this country that are hard working, law-abiding citizens. They have done things the right way, and it is extremely unfortunate that they often get lumped in with millions of illegal immigrants that willingly choose to break our laws.

Unfortunately, we have a system of immigration today that greatly rewards lawless behavior. We have made coming into this country through the front door exceedingly difficult, but we have left the back door completely wide open.

So hard working, law-abiding people that want to do things the right way are kept out, but those that want to come here and commit crimes or abuse the system are free to come on over any time that they would like.

What sense does that make?

Our immigration system is completely broken, but these days we cannot even have a rational debate about these issues. In politically correct America, illegal immigrants have become a “favored class” of people that you are never supposed to say anything bad about.

In fact, one activist recently went out and actually got people to sign a petition that said that we should let illegal immigrants out of prison no matter what crimes they have committed…

What in the world is happening to this country?

CONFIRMED: John Boehner holding secret meetings with Chuck Schumer to slip Amnesty for Illegals past the GOP base

Awesome: Your Republican "leaders" are conspiring with one of the most malevolent and nefarious Statists ever to set foot in the Capitol Building to create a permanent Democrat majority. We know this because of an inadvertent slip by that very same Statist -- a lifetime politician who has never held a real job in his life -- and a man who can't seem to resist a reporter's microphone.

The most dangerous place in Washington: standing between Chuck Schumer and a camera.

Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) made his clearest indication yet that he would be fine with a piecemeal approach to immigration reform preferred by the Republican-led House.

Schumer, the leader of the Gang of Eight whose comprehensive immigration reform legislation passed the Senate in June, said even if the House passes separate bills, those measures could eventually be bundled in a House-Senate conference committee...

Schumer let slip that he is "having discussions" with House Republicans to get this deal done.

In other words, John Boehner and/or his committee chairs are secretly conspiring with Schumer and other Senate leftists to pass a series of "Security First" immigration bills to fool Americans into believing they're serious about border security.

Spoiler: they're not.

So Boehner and Schumer are hoping to get the package of bills into a conference committee, after which the full-blown Democrat Amnesty bill will emerge.

• It will be rushed to the floor of the House and Senate.

• It will consist of more than 1,000 pages of carve-outs, legal exceptions, payoffs to separatist groups like La Raza, bribes, wealth redistribution and corporate reach-arounds.

• Your elected representatives and the American people will have virtually no time to read the bill or understand it; they will be instructed to vote for it, or else.

“We would much prefer a big comprehensive bill, but any way that the House can get there is OK by us,” Schumer told CNN Wednesday. “I actually am optimistic that we will get this done.”

...Schumer also noted on CNN that a few of the House bills — such as one on agriculture workers and another on high-skilled immigrants — are “very similar” to components in the Gang of Eight bill.

Suffice it to say that Boehner and his apparatchiks, Paul Ryan among them, are conspiring against their base, their children, the American citizenry, and fiscal prudence.

Why am I certain Ryan is complicit with Schumer?

As a very visible spokesman for the corporatists' Amnesty campaign, I believe the odds that Ryan is scheming along with Schumer are slightly higher than the likelihood Lindsay Lohan will fall off the wagon.

By putting their own petty interests and personal power over principle, Boehner and Ryan appear ready to have the Republican Party commit political suicide.

An open letter to House Republicans – I didn’t bother with the Democrats because … well, you know.

It has come to my attention that a recent decision by the Executive Branch provides that Congressional staff will have their costs for compliance with the Patient Protection and Affordable Health Care Act (Obamacare) subsidized, ultimately by the taxpayers, in the amount of 75% of the cost.

Accepting a perquisite such as that completely breaks faith with your electorate – who receive no such subsidy. Moreover, to permit such an offset for your staff would seem to be a violation, in spirit at least, of your oath to support and defend the Constitution.

One might expect an ethical and committed Congressional Representative to reject this special exemption (deduction, carve-out, spiff, payoff – or whatever term you care to apply) and require his staff to remit the full amount, as does every other Citizen for whom the law applies.

Can you assure me that this is and will continue to be the case in your office?

Please, no excuses, weasel-worded answers, or bureaucratic legalese. Just a simple statement such as, “I and all of my staff will accept no such exemption, subsidy, discount, or reduction. We will, as obligated by our committment to our constituents, now and in the future, pay exactly the same as demanded of the taxpayers we serve.”

And if you have no choice – that the subsidies are, ahem, ‘forced’ upon you and your staff (employees, advisors, consultants – again, let’s not play with words, eh?) – then nothing less than a personal check written to the U.S. Treasury in the full amount to reimburse each and every individual subsidy will suffice, with evidentiary documention publicly provided.

I expect to see an unequivocal statement to that effect on your official House website before you recess and return to meet with constituents.

Don’t tell us, “It’s not that simple.” Yes, it is.

Either you stand with those who sent you to represent your district, or you do not.

Either you are willing to set the example for your constituency and for other, less motivated members of the House and Senate, or you assent to be counted among those for whom personal privilege, power, and ‘perks’ are more important.

Hopefully, we can attend your upcoming rallies, townhalls, and fundraising events, look you in the eye, shake your hand, and say, “Thank you for taking a principled stand.”

If your actions make such expressions of gratitude impossible, you can expect us to be somewhat more direct, and less polite, when next we meet.

Your choice, Congressman.

On Fox News, Greta van Susteren highlighted some Town Hall meetings held by Congressional representatives. Voters are hopping mad about Obamacare, Benghazi, Fast and Furious, the NSA scandal and the IRS to (*whew*) name but a few.

GRIFF JENKINS, FOX CORRESPONDENT: If it's August, it's town hall season, and some brave members of Congress actually held them in 2013.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: When is this government going to come clean with the American people and tell us what this secret law says, how it's being secretly interpreted, how it's being secretly implemented, and what it means to every person in this room!

REP. ANDY HARRIS (R), MARYLAND: I am very, very worried about what the NSA is doing.

We're going to find out that the NSA was not complying with the law. I don't know about you, but I'm offended by the government knowing the record of every person, of having access to every person I call.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: ... now they have all these embassies closed, and they still don't know what's going to happen there!

HARRIS: You have not seen the end of Benghazi. You have definitely not seen the end of the IRS investigation. There's no question you're not seeing the end of that.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Innocent people, if you will, are getting slammed by partisan politics.

HARRIS: Let me ask you a question...

HARRIS: I think we heard some discontent with what's going on, with not taking care of the problems in this country. And I think you heard a lot of criticism of the president here tonight. They're seeing a president that is sitting on the sidelines, literally playing golf, literally fiddling while Rome is burning.

EUGENE CRAIG iii, MARYLAND RESIDENT: We do not feel that John Boehner effectively represents us. I mean, as the voice of the House of Representatives, I think John Boehner could do a much better job.

We've seen this dozens of times, where Boehner will not -- will not fight or McConnell will not fight, where Paul Ryan and the debate with Joe Biden sit there and sat there and took it from him! And we're -- the American people are putting our hopes on these people to defend us, and we get nothing!

PLAN OF ACTION: The Complete list of Holdouts Who Must Be Convinced to Form a Select Committee on Benghazi

As of this writing, there are 161 co-sponsors (all Republicans) of Rep. Frank Wolf’s HR-36. This resolution would require the formation of a Select Committee to investigate what happened in Benghazi on 9/11/12. Of course, with 234 Republican congressmen in the House, this leaves 73 Representatives who have not endorsed Wolf’s Resolution; their names and telephone numbers are listed below.

At first blush, it would seem that the Republican establishment has dug in its heels and is refusing to honor the spirit of the ‘Hastert Rule’, which states that no bill will come to the floor without the majority of the majority party being behind it. HR-36 is a Resolution that has nearly 70% of House Republican support. The names of all three members of House leadership – Speaker John Boehner, Majority leader Eric Cantor, and Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy – are all absent from Wolf’s resolution. So is establishment wannabe, Paul Ryan.

Conservatives vs. establishment, right? Well…..

You’ll note that names like Jason Chaffetz (UT), Patrick McHenry (NC), James Lankford (OK), Darrell Issa (CA), and other bulldog conservatives in the Benghazi investigation are on the list of congressmen who have not endorsed HR-36 too. Why?

Let’s consider Wolf’s proposal. Remember what the makeup of a Select Committee would be under HR-36:

…in December 2012, I introduced a bill to create a House Select Committee on the Terrorist Attack in Benghazi, which would have full subpoena power to fully investigate what happened in Benghazi and the Obama Administration’s response. The committee would be comprised of the chairmen and ranking members of the committees on Intelligence, Foreign Affairs, Armed Services, Judiciary, Homeland Security and Government Reform and Oversight, with other members appointed by House leaders based on expertise.

What this means is that the only two members from the House Oversight Committee who would be guaranteed positions on the Select Committee would be Issa and Ranking Member / liar / registered socialist Elijah Cummings (D-MD). Chaffetz and McHenry sit on that committee and would be odd men out if they didn’t make the cut. Issa – and other chairmen – may not be signing on to the amendment because they want their best members involved. There is definitely something to be said for this.

For example, Chaffetz has been extremely close to the Benghazi investigation. He went to Tripoli in the weeks after the attack. He has been among the best of the best in demanding answers. There would be something wrong if he wasn’t on the committee while someone like registered socialist John Conyers was on it (as the ranking member of the House Judiciary, Conyers would be on the Select Committee).

We would suggest that Wolf might get more congressmen to jump on board if chairmen of committees that would be included had greater latitude in determining which of their members would be allowed to serve on the committee as well. Consider that, under Wolf’s Resolution, there are only seven positions on the Select Committee who are not already predetermined based on Chairman / Ranking member status, five of whom could be Republicans and two would likely be Pelosi’s Democrats of choice.

Assuming there’s no law restricting the size of a Select Committee, perhaps Wolf could make the tent bigger and get folks like Chaffetz, McHenry, Lankford, and Issa to join him if Committee chairmen are authorized to have a greater say in selecting additional members.

Check out some of the text from HR-36, via Congress.gov:

(a) The select committee shall be composed of…
(7) Five members appointed by the Speaker.
(8) Two members appointed by the Speaker after consultation
with the minority leader.
If the chair or ranking member of any such committee declines to serve
on the select committee, then the Speaker in the case of a chair, or
the Speaker after consultation with the minority leader in the case of
a ranking member, shall designate the member or members from that
committee to serve on the select committee.
(b) The Speaker shall designate one member as chairman and the
minority leader shall designate one member as the ranking minority
member of the select committee.

While it’s true that any Select Committee that’s formed may exclude the best conservative firebrands, it will also do what these firebrands have not been able to do to this point – put the scandal on the national media stage. A Select Committee would almost necessarily cause mainstream media coverage, which has been so egregiously lacking, despite extremely compelling hearings in the House committees.

It is for these reasons that we believe a House Select Committee – despite its downsides – is the best course of action. As such, we encourage you to contact the congressmen below and urge them to support Wolf’s resolution.

HOUSE REPORT: Holder Lied to Congress, But Please Don't Let That Stop the Amnesty and Obamacare Trains!

Now, if the House of Representatives was actually serious about the Obama administration's serial perjurious testimony, it might actually do something drastic. Like defund Obamacare and kill any talk of Amnesty. But I'm guessing that, despite this report, nothing at all will change.

House Republicans released a report Wednesday and “formally accused” Attorney General Eric Holder of misleading Congress with his “deceptive” testimony back in May, Fox News reported.

After reporting their findings, lawmakers sent a letter to President Obama saying they have “grave concerns” about Holder and called for a “change in leadership” at the Department of Justice.

Holder, testifying before the Judiciary Committee on May 15 on DOJ leaks investigations, said he “knew nothing” about the “potential prosecution” of Fox News reporter James Rosen, when actually, it was reported later, Holder himself approved the warrant for Rosen’s email communications.

“With regard to potential prosecution of the press for the disclosure of material, that is not something that I have ever been involved, heard of, or would think would be a wise policy,” Holder then testified to the Judiciary Committee.

However, a House committee investigation concluded Holder’s testimony was “deceptive and misleading.”

Translation: Holder lied under oath, which -- last I checked -- was a crime.

I'll believe the House is serious when they act serious. Schmucks.

This President could give a damn about serious investigations regarding the scandals swirling around his administration. And then his lackeys go on TV, including Fox News Sunday, and tell us there's no evidence? Their people plead the Fifth. The Attorney General doesn't conduct investigations.

And what's necessary is for the Republicans in the House to get their act together.

We don't need five separate House committees investigating Benghazi. We need one Special Investigative Commitee -- with former U.S. assistant attorneys and other types of prosecutors, who are serious people and have the resources necessary full-time to pursue these matters -- and put the information out on the table.

Same with the Internal Revenue Service investigation. We've got committees tripping over one another, claiming jurisdiction. Once again, we need experts, we need to pursue these things with a Special Investigative Committee.

And then the pressure builds for a Special Prosecutor. Even though Holder won't want to appoint one, over time enough information will come out where it will become necessary.

The President of the United States -- it's been almost a year -- will still not tell the American people what he was doing for eight-and-a-half hours after our consulate was attacked in Benghazi...

The President uses his word phony [to describe his scandals]. It's actually a perfect word for him, because his speeches are phony, his promises are phony, his economy is phony, the whole damn thing is phony.

Let me tell you something... from my point of view, once more, the Speaker of the House, he's in charge of organizing these investigations... and he won't. They're flopping around, they're navel-gazing... because they don't think there's anything political in this. They're playing rope-a-dope, they're playing it safe, they want to push through the next election.

Boehner wants to remain Speaker, Cantor Majority Leader... the point is, the fact is, if they'd been running effective investigations, one committee -- a joint committee -- with some of the sharpest, toughest individuals we know investigating Benghazi, we'd be to the bottom of this already.

Same with the IRS scandal. The president should be served with an interrogatory. It's been done before...

What is everybody talking about? Weiner's weiner, for God's sakes... The Trayvon Martin case, that went on for a month.

Meanwhile, we have an Internal Revenue Service that was illegally attacking United States citizens because of their politics, because of their political viewpoints, because of their religion. I mean, for crying out loud, if that doesn't raise an uproar... we have four Americans dead and the President of the United States is running all over the country and refuses to tell the American people what the hell he was doing for eight-and-a-half hours. I think he was sleeping. But he won't say.

We have this NSA -- massive gathering of telephone numbers -- basically nationalizing the phone companies' records as if that's going to fight terrorism...

[On Christie's support of the NSA program and attacks on Rand Paul] ...Maybe this Chris Christie can get in front of these 9/11 families and tell us how this NSA program would have saved a single life or prevented a single terrorist attack. You know how these terrorists got into this country? The border wasn't secure and they overstayed their visas. What is Chris Christie's position on that?

We conservatives have been fighting against the Republican establishment for half a century, whether they take the form of Chris Christie, or Romney... or Gerald Ford or Richard Nixon.

This country needs to move in a new direction, economically, Constitutionally, when it comes to our Bill of Rights.

Karl Rove Gets It Wrong on ObamaCare Defunding

Karl Rove has a piece at FoxNews titled "Republicans must resist game of chicken with president over ObamaCare." In it, the establishment's favorite political guru dispenses bad advice to grassroots conservatives, based on the assumption that defunding the health care law on a spending bill "won't work."

Specifically, Mr. Rove asserts that Republicans shouldn't try to defund ObamaCare on the [Continuing Resolution]...

...Rove is basically saying, Look, 98 or 99 percent of ObamaCare is auto-pilot spending; but a CR is about something completely different: annually appropriated spending. Ergo, you can't stop more than 1 or 2 percent of ObamaCare on a CR.

That would be a valid argument, if its basic premise were true. But it isn't. What the "Don't Fund It" coalition (led by Senators Mike Lee, Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, and others) is proposing is that all ObamaCare funding -- including auto-pilot spending -- be cut off by means of a legislative "rider" containing specific prohibitory language forbidding any ObamaCare funding from occurring. This rider would be attached to the CR, widely regarded as a "must-pass" measure...

...This language is clear and comprehensive. Enacting it would bring ObamaCare to a complete and permanent halt...

Karl Rove is a nitwit whose ignorance is only exceeded by the tools who continue to put funds in his chubby little fingers. His "Crony Capitalist Republicanism" wasn't popular in the Bush era and it is certainly even less popular now.

He has no earthly idea how much energy the Republican Party would garner from the grassroots by taking a stand and actually fighting on principle, win or lose.
