AWESOME: Colorado Voters Abort Democrat State Legislators Who Sided With Rapists Over Victims

Rights: Colorado voters on Tuesday ousted two leading supporters of stricter gun control laws, saying "ready, aim, fired" to those who would deny movie patrons and college women the right to armed self-defense.

One would think that Colorado, the site of the tragedies at Columbine and the Aurora movie theater, the purple state where President Obama accepted his first nomination amidst faux Greek columns, would be the least receptive of states for the arguments of Second Amendment defenders.

Colorado state Senate President John Morse and Sen. Angela Giron found out differently on Tuesday as they were ousted by gun rights advocates in a recall election.

Colorado voters were persuaded that the perils of an unarmed citizenry and the spread of gun-free zones place the public in greater peril at the hands of the unhinged and criminal predators in their midst, and perhaps perceived the common thread in such tragedies — the absence of people willing and able to shoot back.

The National Rifle Association, which donated about $360,000 to support the recalls, in particular hailed Morse's loss, telling the Denver Post it "is proud to have stood with the men and women in Colorado who sent a clear message that their Second Amendment rights are not for sale."

Some would suggest this just demonstrates the power of the gun lobby, but Sen. Lois Tochtrop, an Adams County Democrat and longtime Second Amendment activist, thinks it's just a natural reaction to an overreach by Democrats in messing with gun rights.

Tochtrop feels the recall election was a reaction to seven gun-control measures introduced in the session, including a proposal by Morse. His law would have assigned liability for assault-style weapon damages to manufacturers and sellers.

Morse killed it at the 11th hour because he didn't have the votes to pass it through the Democratic-controlled Senate.

"I feel like all these gun bills have done — to quote the last words in the movie 'Tora! Tora! Tora!' — is to awaken a sleeping giant," Tochtrop said during the debate.

The Colorado legislature was recently the forum for a debate on legislation calling for a ban on concealed-carry on campus — even though such bans elsewhere, such as Virginia Tech, turned those campuses into free-fire zones.

It was at these hearings on the bill that rape victim Amanda Collins testified and was lectured and belittled by condescending Democratic legislators.

Collins was raped at gunpoint in a University of Nevada-Reno parking garage in October 2007. Nevada law prohibited her from carrying a gun on the campus, but her attacker had one.

She was raped 50 feet away from the campus police department office. Her attacker was James Biela, a serial rapist who also raped two other women and murdered another.

He attacked her at gunpoint in a gun-free zone. At the time of the attack, Collins had a concealed weapons permit, but not her firearm, due to university policies prohibiting carrying concealed weapons on campus.

Just such a gun-free zone policy is why the Aurora, Colo., shooter carefully chose the theater he did. And unlike the mall in Clackamass, Ore., where a concealed-carry holder prevented a massacre, there was no one in Aurora to shoot back.

Colorado State Rep. Joe Salazar had pompously responded to Collins' story and advocacy of armed defense by saying, "It's why we have call boxes; it's why we have safe zones; it's why we have the whistles; because you just don't know who you're gonna be shooting at."

Amanda Collins knew, and as she ended her compelling testimony, she asked the committee, "How does rendering me defenseless protect you against a violent crime?" Colorado voters asked that same question on Tuesday.

THUNDER: Missouri Set to Nullify All Federal Gun Laws

Well, now this could get interesting:

It looks like Missouri is about to order the federal government to butt out in terms of gun laws. The state legislature appears to have the votes to override the governor's veto of a bill that nullifies all federal gun legislation, reports the New York Times. (The AP talks to several Democrats who confirm they will bow to their constituents' wishes on the matter and vote against their party's own governor next month.) Even if the legislation becomes law, however, critics don't think it stands a chance in the courts. Backers say an important principle is at stake: "It’s probably one of the best states’ rights issues that the country’s got going right now,” says a state GOP party official.

The legislation not only declares federal gun laws to be null and void within the state's borders, it actually makes it illegal for federal agents to try to enforce them. In fact, state residents would be able to sue the arresting officer. The measure also makes it illegal for journalists to print the names of gun owners, calling to mind controversies like this one. A quote from a Democratic lawmaker pretty much sums things up: “We love our guns and we love hunting. It’s not worth the fight for me to vote against it." But, he adds, "the bill is completely unconstitutional, so the courts are going to have to throw it out.”

Now the Second Amendment is crystal clear on this matter, since it codifies in no uncertain terms that "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." The Framers wrote the Bill of Rights in plain English, so only a willful misinterpretation by progressives would treat it otherwise.

And most of the states, which gave birth to the federal government, were equally explicit on the matter of individual sovereignty and the right of self defense.

It is only the Statist, pursuing an illegitimate agenda deconstructing the rights of the individual while advocating the importance of centralized government, who could read these expressions otherwise.

HOLY TOLEDO: Harvard Study Proves That Gun Control Laws Can't Work, Won't Work and Have Never Worked

Democrat Statists and professional propagandists hardest hit: it's Hahvahd, after all.

“Would Banning Firearms Reduce Murder and Suicide? A Review of International and Some Domestic Evidence” in the Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy is the stuff of gun grabber’s nightmares. Don B. Kates and Gary Mauser have compiled a heavily foot-noted academic report that is nonetheless very compelling and relatively easy to digest...

The Harvard study attempts to answer the question of whether or not banning firearms would reduce murders and suicides. Researchers looked at crime data from several European countries and found that countries with HIGHER gun ownership often had LOWER murder rates.

Russia, for example, enforces very strict gun control on its people, but its murder rate remains quite high. In fact, the murder rate in Russia is four times higher tahn in the “gun-ridden” United States, cites the study. ”Homicide results suggest that where guns are scarce other weapons are substituted in killings.” In other words, the elimination of guns does not eliminate murder, and in the case of gun-controlled Russia, murder rates are quite high.

The study revealed several European countries with significant gun ownership, like Norway, Finland, Germany and France – had remarkably low murder rates. Contrast that with Luxembourg, “where handguns are totally banned and ownership of any kind of gun is minimal, had a murder rate nine times higher than Germany in 2002.

The study found no evidence to suggest that the availability of guns contributes to higher murder rates anywhere in the world. ”Of course, it may be speculated that murder rates around the world would be higher if guns were more available. But there is simply no evidence to support this.”

The authors also took a look at the effect of gun control laws in various U.S. states, gun ownership in rural and urban areas, and across racial lines. The long and short of it is that a small number of extremely active criminals with lengthy criminal records are responsible for the overwhelming super-majority of all gun crimes, and these criminals are psychopaths that ignore all laws.

The study also cited a previous report that was unable to find a single gun control law implemented in the United States that is proven to have reduced violent crime.

Perhaps someone could forward the study to Chicago Mayor Rahm "Tiny Dancer" Emanuel, not that facts ever influenced a Democrat's policy position.

The Difference Between Orlando and Chicago: The Right to Preserve Your Most Precious Gift

Try to imagine what would have happened had this precise scenario unfolded in Chicago (or any other Democrat-enforced human hunting preserve).

An armed robbery suspect was shot and killed in West Melbourne, according to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.

According to Major Todd Goodyear, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of 32-year-old Fredrick Lorenza Kelly Jr., who was shot and killed during an alleged Armed Robbery of a pizza delivery driver.

According to Goodyear, the incident occurred in the parking lot of the Days Inn motel at 4500 West New Haven Ave., West Melbourne, an area that fall in county jurisdiction shortly before midnight on August 23, 2013.

Bryon Park, 54, of Palm Bay had just returned to his vehicle after delivering a pizza to a room in the motel complex, when he was approached by Kelly brandishing a large knife.

According to Goodyear, Kelly demanded money from Park and threatened to kill him if he did not comply. Park obtained the firearm he carries in his vehicle and defended himself, by firing once toward Kelly, who was struck and pronounced dead at the scene. Kelly’s body was transported to the Brevard County Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy.

Fredrick Kelly Jr. has a lengthy violent criminal history that includes Armed Robbery, Aggravated Battery and False Imprisonment.

In fact, almost exactly this same scenario did occur in Chicago just a few short years ago.

A man pleaded guilty Thursday in the 2006 slaying and armed robbery of a widowed mother of four sons that occurred while she was delivering pizzas near West Chicago.

Bradley Justice, 31, of Sandwich was scheduled to go on trial next week in the brutal killing of Karen Hassan, 41, of St. Charles. Hassan was beaten to death with a hammer as she arrived at a unoccupied industrial site to deliver pizzas ordered by Justice, who later used cash he took from the woman to buy cocaine.

Thanks to the radical left Democrat Party, Karen Hassan had no ability to defend herself against a vicious hoodlum and criminal.

Democrats want law-abiding citizens disarmed. They use the blood of children to push their radical gun control agenda. They want the citizenry cowed and fearful.

And that is why cities like Chicago are awash in blood; for it is the citizens that obey the Democrats' unconstitutional laws leaving only gangsters with deadly force.

Just when you think Bloomberg -- the idiot mayor, not the news service -- has reached the height of stupidity, he pulls something like this.

Charles W. Cooke at National Review Online found this headdesk moment in the twitter feed of J. David Goodman, the NYPD police reporter for the New York Times. Goodman covered a joint NYPD press conference featuring Mayor Michael Bloomberg today that saw hundreds of guns pointed directly at the audience...

...While we hope that the NYPD had the good sense to clear each and every firearm on display, what they failed to do is as undeniable as it is unforgivable. They clearly left magazines in, with bolts closed, on numerous firearms pointing at the press...

...At least one of the guns picture above, third up from the bottom on the left, clearly has the bolt-closed and the safety off as it points towards the assembled reporters.

I've concluded there are three levels of liberal idiocy: there's stupid. There's really stupid. And there's Bloomberg stupid.

NBC's leftist hack David Gregory, who hosts Meet the Press over the weekend, asked his ‘panel’ with a big smile on his face ‘do American voters want to see a third Obama term or would they like to see the restoration of the Bill Clinton era?’ Gregory was smiling from ear to ear that it makes it obvious what he wants. Another term of Obama, even though Obama isn’t eligible for the third term.

"Do Americans, specifically Democratic voters, do they want to see a third Obama term or would they like to see the restoration of the Bill Clinton era?"

Gee, last time I checked, putz, Obama can't run for a third term.

What is it with this Democrat-Media Complex? Whether it's Tom Friedman pining for Red China's government, or Barack Obama's serial abrogation of the Constitution, they have a hankering for dictators.

And David Gregory -- the same jerk who should have been prosecuted for waving around an illegal 30-round magazine in the District of Columbia -- is the very worst of a very bad lot.

Phony Scandal Curiously Reveals Real Dead Bodies and Real Guns

Media Bias: Rodeo clowns constitute a real crisis in media eyes, while deaths from the administration's gun-running operation to Mexican drug cartels are ignored as three more guns show up at crime scenes in Mexico.

The media have had a field day with a single, supposedly racist rodeo clown. But somehow, with few exceptions, mainstream media ignore the far-more-dangerous clowns in the Obama administration — those whose incompetence in the Fast and Furious scandal has led to human tragedy and deaths.

One exception is the relentless Sharyl Attkisson of CBS News, who reported Wednesday that three more weapons from Fast and Furious, the administration gift that keeps on killing, have turned up at violent crime scenes in Mexico. CBS News reported all three guns are WASR-10 762-caliber Romanian rifles.

Two were purchased by Fast and Furious suspect Uriel Patino in May and July of 2010. Sean Steward, who was convicted on gun charges in July 2012, purchased a third. The rifles have been traced to the Lone Wolf gun shop in Glendale, Ariz.

Details of exactly where the guns were found and what the crimes were aren't known at this point. And the Department of Justice, under Attorney General Eric Holder, is not about to divulge that information or any information about the recovery of Fast and Furious weapons at crime scenes.

A month ago, Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley sent a letter to Holder asking why the Department of Justice was covering up deaths and weapons linked to Operation Fast and Furious. The inquiry came shortly after a Mexican police chief and his bodyguard were killed by cartel members using Fast and Furious guns.

Luis Lucio Rosales Astorga, police chief in the city of Hostotipaquillo, was shot to death Jan. 29 when gunmen intercepted his patrol car and opened fire. A bodyguard also was killed. A semi-automatic WASR rifle, the firearm that killed the chief, was also traced back to the Lone Wolf Trading Co.

During the course of Operation Fast and Furious from 2009-2010, 2,500 weapons were purchased by illegal "straw" buyers under Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms surveillance, guns that were allowed to "walk" into Mexico. Testimony by ATF agents shows they were ordered not to interdict the flow. At least 1,400 of those weapons are still missing. The only weapons recovered have largely been at crime scenes.

The Grassley letter mentions not only murder of the police chief, but also a Fast and Furious weapon found at the scene of a shootout between reported Sinaloa drug cartel members and the Mexican military, in which Sinaloa beauty queen Maria Susana Flores Gamez and four others were killed, as well as crimes mentioned in an October 2012 Univision special.

Univision found 57 Fast and Furious weapons in addition to 122 specifically mentioned in a congressional report. Three high-caliber weapons were used on the night of Jan. 30, 2010, to kill 14 and wound 12 at a birthday party in Villas de Salvarcar, Ciudad Juarez.

Fast and Furious weapons played a role in a 2009 massacre, where 18 young men were killed at a rehabilitation center, also in Juarez.

Of course, two weapons used in the murder of Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agent Jaime Zapata in Mexico on Feb. 15, 2011 also came from suspects who were under ATF watch but not arrested at the time.

And two Fast and Furious AK-47-type rifles were recovered from the murder scene of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry in December 2010; he'd been shot by illegal immigrants who were smuggling drugs.

"I think up to 100 Mexicans might have died (in Operation Fast and Furious) and also American agent Brian Terry," Univision reporter Jorge Ramos said to President Obama during a recent separate interview.

These are all real deaths in a scandal President Obama still insists is "phony" — and one that much of the mainstream media have studiously ignored.

Full-auto Gauss gun "has 3D printed guns running scared"

3D-printed guns have been making the news a lot recently. That's not to say that they and their creators don't deserve the press — people arming themselves without so much as a permit is pretty terrifying. But whoever it was that said 3D printing was the only way for people to circumvent the law and arm themselves just might not have seen this bad boy.

This fully-automatic Gauss gun, dubbed the CG-42, has a 15-round capacity and can fire an entire clip of ammo in 1.5 seconds. What it fires is almost as frightening as the gun itself, because the CG-42 is armed with nails, side-stepping the need for even the slightest of paper trails.

A Gauss gun, also known as a coilgun, is a battery-operated, electromagnetic linear motor which pulls a projectile forward faster and faster until it exits the weapon's muzzle, no gunpowder required. The CG-42 has a muzzle velocity of 138 feet per second, which doesn't sound like a lot until you see it put a nail right through a laptop's casing. Gauss guns also get more powerful the longer you make them, so a Gauss "rifle" would be capable of much more destruction...

The video at the link won't have anyone trading in their AR-15, but the technology does show a great deal of promise.

BUSINESS MODEL FAIL: Crackpot newspaper that published map of law-abiding gun owners lays off 17 including moonbat editor

I’ve nothing to add except this is wonderful news. A newspaper accessed the names and addresses of registered New York gun owners through a public records request. The paper then published a map of registered gun owners who live just north of New York City.

The editors and staff were shocked by the unfavorable public response. They received angry phone calls and even face to face criticism at their office. The home addresses of the newspaper employees were published online by another group. The managers of the paper hired armed guards for physical security. The newspaper staff were openly mocked in online videos. Advertisers in the newspaper received many critical comments and the paper’s advertising revenue fell. All this happened in a suburb within commuting distance of New York. I guess you don’t have to get far from Manhattan to loose the luster of liberalism.

Now 17 newspaper employees have been laid off. Among them was the editor who published the gun owner’s information. This is the first time I’ve seen online media clearly punish a bricks and mortar media firm. This is a good start, but don’t stop. I hope the paper is driven out of business.

Can we do the same to some other papers as well?

TRAVESTY: Former Sanford police chief eviscerates the race-baiters in government and the media

PoliceOne's Karen L. Bune has an exclusive interview with former Sanford, Florida Police Chief Bill Lee and Captain Robert O’Connor. Lee describes the utter madness of the Zimmerman charges, orchestrated by the DNC-Holder-Obama-Sharpton Racial Division Complex:

Following the incident, O’Connor was placed in charge of the Zimmerman investigation. Three canvasses of the neighborhood were done the night of the shooting. A video re-enactment was done, and George Zimmerman was cooperative...

...After 48 hours of investigation, the local State’s Attorney was given a run-down of the findings. Lee and O’Connor were told by the State’s Attorney’s Office that there was no criminal case, and there was no way to prosecute. It appeared to be a clear case of self-defense.

...[But when] the dissemination of sensational information began in national media outlets, the department’s Public Information Officer (PIO) was on leave for a family medical situation... By this point, it had become a national story, with both information and misinformation about how the encounter occurred and how Trayvon died.

“The biggest travesty by the media was showing Trayvon when he was 12-13 years old,” O’Connor said. “He was a six foot, 160-pound, 17-year-old young man. Those images of young Trayvon Martin did more to incite this case than anything they would have done, and they did it masterfully.”

Politicians — both near and far — entered into the situation...

After 15 days the investigation was pulled from the Sanford Police Department. The Governor of Florida assigned the case to Angela Corey, the State’s Attorney in the 4th Judicial District in Jacksonville, Florida.

Chief Lee was relieved of his duties and was informed the community no longer had trust in him.

The co-conspirators behind this travesty include Barack Obama, NBC and its deceptive audio-tape edits, Eric Holder, Al Sharpton and the rest of the usual suspects. In a sane world, these people would be laughed off the public stage.

THE GENIUS OF DEMOCRAT RULE: Illinois State Legislator Demands Military Occupation of Chicago

Perhaps we need a phrase to describe the decay of a city that suffers through decades of unchecked Democrat rule. Call it "The Detroit Effect", which Chicago is now experiencing as it follows the Motor City into the fiscal cesspool.

A longtime Chicago lawmaker Tuesday called on Gov. Pat Quinn to send the Illinois State Police and the Illinois National Guard into Chicago to help quell gun violence.

Rep. Monique Davis, a South Side Democrat serving in her 13th term in the House, said she wanted troopers and National Guardsmen “to come to Chicago and work with our mayor, Rahm Emanuel, to provide safety for the children, especially, and for all who walk in Chicago. We deserve. We’re important. Our kids are important.”

She also asked that Quinn appoint a task force to “guide the behavior of the National Guard. We don’t want them to have us fearing them also. We want them there for safety and protection.”

But only two other Democrats accompanying Davis at a Springfield news conference agreed...

Another Obama straw-man lit afire: Blacks and Hispanics Benefit More Than Whites From "Stand Your Ground" Laws

It appears President Obama and his apparatchiks have figured out how to use the tragic Trayvon Martin case for more than just race-baiting. The authoritarians are also using it as a back-door attack on the Second Amendment, specifically targeting the more than 30 states that have "Stand Your Ground" laws on the books. And Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) is having none of it.

President Barack Obama’s suggestion that state “Stand your Ground” laws should be examined after the fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin could amount to an assault on the right of Americans to own guns, Sen. Ted Cruz said in Iowa Friday.

Speaking after addressing a Republican group, Cruz told reporters he hadn’t yet watched Obama’s remarks. But when asked to respond to Obama’s call for a review of laws in individual states, Cruz responded by saying the president was trampling on constitutionally guaranteed rights.

“It is not surprising that the president uses, it seems, every opportunity that he can to go after our Second Amendment right to bear arms,” the Texas Republican said. “This president and this administration has a consistent disregard for the Bill of Rights.”

Now, never mind that George Zimmerman's legal team didn't even use a "Stand Your Ground" defense argument. Never mind that peculiar aspect of the Statists' incessant whining.

Instead, consider the fact that Blacks and Hispanics benefit more than Whites from the Florida 'Stand Your Ground':

...for decided cases, 69 percent of blacks who have claimed the Stand Your Ground law as a justification were not convicted (24 out of 35)...

...For whites, the percentage is actually lower. 62 percent of whites who claimed Stand Your Ground as justifying their actions were not convicted (40 out of 65)...

...For Hispanics, 78 percent successfully rely on the Stand Your Ground law (7 out 9 cases).

By my count, that makes 1,806 straw-man arguments by this president that have been proven utterly fraudulent. As for why POTUS chose yesterday to deliver his second set of remarks on the Zimmerman case? Here's why.

President Trayvon Soothes Racial Tensions With Historic, Healing, Lincoln-esque Speech

Earlier today, weighing in on the Zimmerman verdict for the first time, President Barack Obama said that "Trayvon Martin could have been me 35 years ago." That is, if Trayvon had led a childhood of luxury in Hawaii and then somehow attended Columbia and Harvard using financial means yet undiscovered by modern media.

Bryan Preston:

Barack Obama had a moment when he could have stood above all the factions in the black community, indeed all the factions arguing over the verdict in that trial. He could have spoken to and for more than just one American community. He chose instead to insert himself and race into the story from the world’s largest bully pulpit, while refusing to use that bully pulpit to stand up forcefully for the rule of law.

Mark Levin:

Ronald Reagan always talked up America, never apologizing for it, but reminding everyone all over the world what a great country we have. But Obama never does that, he says, even though he’s traveled all over the country and has seen what a great people we have. Levin points out that Obama doesn’t sound like a man who is honored to lead America as her president. Instead he has a chip on his shoulder and is intent to balkanize America with speeches like he made today on race.

Instead of acting like a president, he acts like Al Sharpton – all the while more and more black teens can’t get a job and more black adults are rolling on to welfare. Yet no one ever talks about it. Ever.

Almost as if it's unfair to ask for evidence of the Lightbringer's alleged eloquence and perspicacity.

Two NYPD Cops Fire 84 Rounds at Murder Suspect

A man who allegedly killed his 13-year-old half-sister survived a fusillade of bullets from New York City police officers early Tuesday, after pointing his pistol at officers.

Officers responded to a 911 call at 2971 Eighth St. in Harlem at 3:27 a.m. Tuesday.

Steven Murray, 28, had allegedly shot his mother Christine Fryar, 44, and her daughter Annie, according to the NYPD. Paramedics arrived to find the daughter dead with a gunshot wound to the head. The mother, who was also shot in the head, was transported to Harlem Hospital, and is listed in critical condition.

Police eventually confronted Murray, who was running through the surrounding neighborhood. The officers pursued Murray on foot and returned fire after he fired one shot.

NYPD Sgt. Alexander Mesa fired 39 shots, and Officer Joseph Robinson got off 45 rounds. Murray was hit 14 times, and refused to drop his weapon, reports the New York Daily News.

Murray has been charged with murder and attempted murder.

In Obama's Chicago, a Trayvon Tragedy Occurs Every Day of the Week

Urban Decay: When more Americans are killed in the president's hometown than in Afghanistan, even the media take notice. When will the president notice the carnage in the city run by his former chief of staff?

People are dying fast and furiously in Chicago, so much so that it caught the CBS eye and prompted "Evening News" anchor Scott Pelley to sit down Monday night with Rahm Emanuel, President Obama's former chief of staff and mayor of this monument to progressive decay, and ask a very pertinent question.

"I got a letter from a viewer the other day who asked us why we were spending so much time at 'The Evening News' covering Afghanistan when more people were dying in Chicago," Pelley said. "Why is the murder rate up 30%?"

Pelley put the number of murders in Chicago at 275 so far this year. On Monday alone, nine young people were shot in suspected gang-related violence, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

Emanuel responded that crimes such as burglary, armed robbery and theft are down 10%. This is true, but it's small comfort to the parents of Heaven Sutton, 7, who was killed as she tried to dodge bullets fired from the guns of gangbangers. She was selling snow cones at the time.

Heaven didn't get quite the attention of Trayvon Martin, the Florida teenager killed by neighborhood watch member George Zimmerman. When perceived racism can be invoked as a cause of death, headlines blare. When it happens in a city beset by liberalism's failures, crickets chirp.

Mayor Emanuel announced Monday that he's devoting another $4 million to tear down vacant buildings where gang members live and store guns and drugs. Structurally sound buildings will be boarded up. But why are they vacant and boarded up? Why did 200,000 people flee Chicago in the past decade?

Chicago, like Illinois, is overtaxed and overregulated, a climate that attracts neither businesses nor people. It was the ideological incubator for a community organizer who would become president and blame all of America's problems on those who worked hard and succeeded.

Emanuel told Pelley that in addition to being a law enforcement issue, "it's about values. As I said then (when a 7-year-old Heaven was shot and killed last month), who raised you? How were you raised?" And by whom, we might add. Decades of progressive liberalism that started with LBJ's Great Society did much to destroy the black family in America.

Progressive liberalism does not teach the values of hard work and reaping the fruits of one's labor. It gives men fish instead of teaching them how to fish. It demeans the value of marriage by saying, "Don't worry, the government will be your parent," as generations of inner-city youth grow up without a father or male role model in the home.

The fact that African-Americans, with 12.6% of the nation's population, account for 50% of the murder victims just might have something to do with the fact that among blacks, 72% of births are to unmarried women. Yet President Obama focuses on gay marriages.

Mayor Emanuel and his former boss are all about redistributing wealth rather than creating it and fail to realize that no one ever got a job from a poor person. They embrace a cradle-to-grave, paternalistic liberalism that encourages dependence and discourages ambition, that puts food stamps above paychecks.

The black unemployment rate nationally jumped from 13.6% in May to 14.4% in June, with the jobless rate for black youths aged 16 to 19 increasing from 35.2% to 44.2%; yet President Obama says we are on the "right path."

Hope and change? In Barack Obama's liberal citadel of Chicago, there's little hope that anything will change anytime soon.

There have been 1,000 shootings in Chicago so far this year, hundreds of them fatal and many involving innocent young children.

Where are Obama, Holder, and Sharpton to decry this senseless violence? Oh, that's right: most of it's black-on-black violence, which doesn't help divide the country along racial lines... nor help advance their political agenda.

HELPFUL FOR TOURISTS: A Murder Map of Chicago

Welcome to the human hunting preserve known as Chicago: where to this day, law-abiding citizens are forcibly disarmed by the state and local governments while criminals rule the streets. Six months into the year, according to the Chicago Tribune, more than 1,000 people have been wounded or killed by gunfire in Chicago.

For the glorious Fourth of July celebration, gun-free Chicago saw 5 shot dead and 27 wounded.

And with the weekend only half over, 9 were killed and 36 wounded celebrating Friday night. The casualties include two boys, ages 5 and 7.

How could it be that the entire rest of the country has more liberalized concealed-carry laws than Chicago -- and every one of those areas is infinitely safer than the Second City? For you drones, liberals, progressives and other miscreants: that's a rhetorical question.

I haven’t seen anything that suggests foul play of any kind, to me, it’s strictly supply and demand, and it shows you what panic in a market looks like... Rationing and price spikes are the result of demand far outstripping supply...

“Take for example .22LR ammunition. The industry as a whole (all manufacturers combined) is setup to produce 4,200,000,000 (4.2 Billions) .22 LR annually. That is running all the machines, full capacity all the time, all manufacturers together.

There is NOTHING they can do to produce more.

That corresponds to 230,137 cartridge per State per day, which is 460 bricks of 500 .22lr per day per State. That means that if less than 50 people per day in each State are buying 10 bricks of .22, it is enough to dry up the entire supply as it is being manufactured.”

News from ammo makers seems OK too, but it’s right to be wary. Trust but verify. How do you do that?

If you don’t have ammo, you’re stuck in a high market. If you’re like many Americans, you’ll comfortably ride this out until the market corrects.
